From here on out it is double digit numbers...
we no longer have children in the single digits,
and quite frankly, it makes me sad a little bit.
(last year's birthday post...here)
How has it been 10 years ago since
our family welcomed
our sweet 3 pound Ethan Kip into this world!
I no longer have a little toddler
to pack around on my hip!
I no longer have a little boy to sit on my lap
and read our favorite books together!
"Guess How Much I Love You"...by Sam McBratney
OR,
"The Kissing Hand"...by Audrey Penn
This book was definitely life changing as
EVERY single night before bed
and many times during the day
we give each other the "I Love you" sign!!
However, I have a handsome young man that even though he likes to read and read and read books by himself,
still likes to snuggle on the couch right next to me
and read when we get a free moment.
I love and savor those moments greatly!
March 19th, 2012
Such a FUN, happy day for my Ethan Kip...
it started out with a surprise bike (he had NO idea he was getting that)
breakfast consisted of his favorite smoothie and boiled eggs on toast,
lunch meant, having mom come and sit and eat with you in the lunch room at school,
dinner consisted of Salmon burgers, on homemade onion and cheese buns with all the toppings, homemade FRENCH Fries, sparkling cider and
We also got to enjoy dinner with Grandpa and Grandma Smith!
Here's the day in photos!
10 candles...
one amazing son!!
No matter how old you get Ethan Kip,
I'll always say...
"I love you right up to the moon....and back"!

It is SO hard when that youngest one hits the double digits - bittersweet I would say!
Ethan Kip looks like he had such a special birthday! I love the chocolate "10" on his cake - Yummy!!
Happy Birthday Ethan - Your mama loves you alot!!!
Yay! Glad it was a special day for him :)
I agree with Cherie about the youngest hitting double digits. Mine is 10 in May and I am already feeling sad about it. I want to stop time because it will soon be over.
You are an awesome mom and it looks like Ethan had a wonderful birthday. That cake looked fabulous.
btw - I was reading back the other day on your not spending money challenge. Very interesting, especially not going through more milk. Do you coupon?
Gosh, in October my days have of having a single digit children will end as well. Where does the time go?
I love that story so very much. I changed the quote " I love you to the moon and back" just a little. I always tell my youngest, "I love you to the moon and beyond".
Looks like he had a wonderful Birthday.
