Overwhelmed with Produce!!

I don't know about you, but I am OVERWHELMED with garden produce, both from our garden and our neighbors!!

I just wish I could plan it so things "stagger" in ripening instead of having all of your different vegetables ripe at the same time. One of these years, maybe that will happen.

SO, lots of produce means
THRIFTY and YUMMY soups at our house
(plus a few other yummy recipes).

Even though I have posted a lot of my soup recipes, some of you may not have seen them and these all are wonderful to make and use up your abundance of garden veggies.
Here are some links to to some great recipes using garden vegetables.

ALSO, I will be posting 3 other recipes over the next 3 days
(since this Blog is a place for all of my recipes to finally be in 1 spot and I have never posted these ones before).

Tuesday: I'll post about Cabbage roll ups. They are a great way to use cabbage AND leftover rice.

Wednesday: Who doesn't love Shepherd's pie. (Fall is the only time I make this up because I love making it with FRESH garden beans that are just lightly steamed).

Thursday: Homemade Tomato soup is SO yummy and a great way to use tomatoes! Serve this along a grilled cheese sandwich and you will have a happy family!

I hope these are helpful to you...
I know that this time of year I LOVE trying new recipes to make sure that nothing in our garden goes to waste!
Enjoy!

  4. You have some beautiful produce from your garden! I know what you mean, I have a box of pears that I need to bottle tonight or they'll be too ripe and I also have a bucket of tomatoes that need to be done. It gets to the point where I pray for frost!
Hope you have a fantastic day. It will be fun to see and try all your recipes.
